What is Simply Published?
Simply Published is a tool for encoding articles into a URL by storing text in a URL parameter. The article is not saved to our website, but it can be viewed through it using our companion decoder. This process is automated by the shareable URL.
Are articles published to Simply Published's website?
No, articles published through Simply Published are not saved to our website. They are encoded into a shareable URL, which contains the full text of the article. When someone visits that URL our decoder extracts the text, and displays it. Any compatible third-party decoder is also capable of displaying the article just by modifying the relevant parts of the URL (e.g., changing the domain name).
Who is Simply Published for?
Normally if you want to publish an article online you buy a domain, buy web hosting, create a website, write your article, and publish it. This process takes time, and typically money. If you're establishing a serious online presence, that can be well worth it. However, if you're just looking to quickly get an article online—to share with a limited audience, or perhaps even a specific person—, and don't care about long-term retention, then Simply Published provides a quicker alternative, because all you need to do is write your article, and generate the link. It's a very specific use-case.
Can I publish anything I want?
No, because your articles are being encoded, and decoded through our platform, your articles must comply with our Terms of Service agreement, and it imposes some restrictions on what you can publish.
Does Simply Published review articles?
No, we don't review articles during the publication process, because we don't have access to them. When you publish an article the process occurs entirely in your browser. Only you have the link until you share it with someone.
What are the downsides of using Simply Published?
Because article URLs are quite long, you may not be able to share them on some platforms due to link length limits. For browser compatibility purposes we also impose a length limit on articles, so the platform is not well suited to big articles. The URLs are also not SEO friendly, as they aren't intended to be indexed by search engines.
